Thank you, Special Edition and Production updates:
First, I want to thank you for an amazing release of the ADG-1 Special Edition. I’m once again humbled by your response. We took a big risk with this product as were not sure if people would want an upgraded ADG-1 with extra flair, or if we would end up with a bunch of high-dollar pedals sitting on the shelf unsold. But we sold out in less than 30 hours, telling me you want special edition products and that we can keep building them. Thank you all very much.
I’m getting a lot of messages asking about the ADG-1 restock and other matters so this blog post is an attempt to answer some of those questions.
I want to stress that the ADG-1 Special Edition will remain a very limited availability product and will not be in our regular production schedule. It is very labor intensive and expensive to build. In addition I want it to remain something unique and special for those that own this pedal. Keeping it as a standard offering would not keep the special nature of it. The current plan is to release this in very small batches (smaller than our first release) once or twice a year with the next release scheduled for spring of 2022. I expect it to always sell out quickly. Watch our social media or sign up for the mailing list to be informed when they will next be released.
Regarding all our pedals: I need to to clear that, in the interest of fairness, we are not able to take reservations or hold units for people. That said, we do have a wait list you can sign up for. Simply click the picture on the product page and add your name to the box labeled “get notified when this product is back in stock”. We will e-mail you when we restock. Keep an eye out, because sometimes we release small batches or B-Stock units that did not make it to the store at release time.
This Friday’s ADG-1 standard edition will be our last big release of 2021. We are still working with our vendors to figure out when we will next be able to restock. We are aiming for early 2022. We hope to also have international distribution sorted out by then as well. Again, watch the mailing list and our social media for announcements.
Next we hope to have an “odds and socks” release in early December where we will release any B-Stock or other units that did not make the production inventory at release time. This will be a very small release of only a few pedals, but it might be a chance to grab something unique or get a deal. Watch our social media for an announcement.
Supply sourcing these days has been brutal. I’m sure you have heard about semiconductor shortages in the news. We have also been having problems with parts being suddenly obsoleted, especially discrete transistors, JFETS and specialty semiconductors, metal shortages, shipping problems and threats of Chinese manufacturing shutting down for 2 months longer than the traditional 6 week Chinese New year in order to meet environmental quotas. This makes future orders and production in 2022 a huge unknown. So if you think you want an ADG-1, now is the time. I can’t guarantee when we will have them again.
I’m also getting a lot of e-mails about what is next. Rest assured we are working on several new ideas and will let you know as soon as they have cooked and matured long enough to do so. We hope to be able to show you something new in early 2022.
Finally check out our updated FAQ for more technical updates including use of the Special Edition insert.
Until then,
Thank you for all your support. 2021 has been a great year for Asheville Music Tools.
